This past Tuesday the Engine and Truck traveled to the west side of town to train with Co 16 (Lincoln) on our new donated FAST boards. Members were introduced to the many functions of the board which is primarily used for firefighter rescue, but has many other uses. Members from both companies worked together to removed a downed firefighter from a basement and also demonstrated the use of the board for high-angle rescue.
Both boards were made possible by generous donations from local businesses and by Operation FAST, a local group that has donated several boards to Lancaster County departments. Check out the link if you are interested in donating or learning more!
While out on training the engine company handled a medical call on Westpointe Dr, units were cancelled by EMS and PD on scene.
