First Due House Fire on East Main St

 December 19, 2018

Just as crews were returning from a Christmas party at Company 16 (Lincoln) on Dec. 18th, LCWC alerted the Pioneers for a trash fire outside a residence in the 200 block of East Main St in the borough.  As Engine 15-1 and Deputy 15 checked up, LCWC advised units that the assignment was being upgraded as multiple calls were being received of a house fire at the same location.  Co 15 units along with EPD arrived with a working fire on the first floor of the residence.  Eng 15-1 arrived and stretched to extinguish the fire with the assistance Eng 16-1 and Rescue 16 who were both on the street just after the upgrade.  Units worked for approximately 1 hour to bring the incident under control.  The Pioneers were assisted by units from Lincoln, Akron, Reamstown, Farmersville and the air unit from Reinholds.  The State Police Fire Marshal was called to assist with the investigation, no cause is known at the time of this article. Thanks to Eng 3-1 (Martindale) and Truck 11 (Adamstown) for covering the Ephrata area while we were out.

Earlier in the evening during the party Co 15 handled a medical assist and an outside investigation in the township.

Engine 15-1 handled this small vehicle fire on 9/2. The owner kept the fire in check with a garden hose until the Engine arrived.
